About this unit
Wyoming Hunt Area 154 (Raspberry Ridge) is a high-elevation, heavily forested unit on the Hoback Rim southeast of Jackson, running along the Green River-Hoback River divide in Sublette/Teton counties, with roughly 87% public land in Bridger-Teton National Forest (174.86 sq mi). Mule deer are hunted under a General OTC/NR-draw license with a short 11-day rifle season (Sep 15-25) and a mandatory 4-point antler restriction; CWD was confirmed here in 2023 and the area carries mandatory CWD sample submission requirements. Elk are present as Elk Area 87 'Raspberry Ridge' - General seasons run archery Sep 1-30 and rifle Oct 15-31 with an antlerless extension Nov 1-20; limited late-season Type 1 (quota 10 antlered) and Type 6 (quota 50 cow/calf) licenses are available Dec-Jan in sub-areas, plus Type 7 (quota 150 cow/calf) through Nov 20. Moose are available under Moose Area 22 'Raspberry Ridge' with 5 total antlered moose permits. Pronghorn area 86 (Hoback drainage) is closed. An Elk Special Management Permit (feedground permit) is required for all elk hunters in this area.
Rugged high-mountain terrain on the Raspberry Ridge/Hoback Rim, a major divide separating the Green River and Hoback River watersheds. Elevation spans roughly 6,500-10,000+ ft (Steamboat Peak and Hodges Peak are boundary landmarks). Vegetation transitions from sagebrush-grassland at lower elevations through lodgepole pine and spruce-fir forest on the upper ridges. Deep drainages cut the interior. The area lies southeast of the Jackson Hole valley in Sublette County (with a sliver of Teton County) within Bridger-Teton National Forest.

The 4-point antler restriction (minimum 4 points on either antler for mule deer) applies to area 154 per 2026 Chapter 6. Youth hunters are exempt from antler point restrictions per Section 5 of Chapter 6. Nonresident deer licenses require Region H general draw (350 total NR licenses across areas 130, 138-140, 142, 146, 149-156). Resident general deer license sold OTC starting July 16. Elk hunters must carry an Elk Special Management Permit (feedground permit, available at WGFD offices) in addition to their elk license.
