Hunt Area 141, Green River, Wyoming

Rugged high-country drainage of the upper Green River between the Wyoming Range divide (Hoback Rim) to the west and the Continental Divide/Bridger Wilderness to the east. Elevations run approximately 7,700–12,800 ft for the deer unit (up to 13,800 ft in the Bridger Wilderness). Lower reaches along the Green River and Warren Bridge area feature sagebrush flats and river-bottom meadows that serve as critical mule deer winter and transitional range. Mid elevations carry grass-sagebrush parklands. Upper elevations are forested (Engelmann spruce, subalpine fir) transitioning to alpine rock and talus above timberline. The unit encompasses approximately 507 sq mi.

Primary vehicle access is via US Highway 191 at Warren Bridge (southern end of unit) and the Green River Lakes Road (Sublette County Road 23-111) running north into the unit from Cora Junction. The Union Pass Road (USFS Road 600) and Darwin Ranch Road (USFS Road 620) provide upper-elevation access to the east side of the unit. Numerous USFS trail systems depart from Green River Lakes Campground into the Bridger Wilderness. Nearest towns: Pinedale (approximately 35 miles south) and Cora/Daniel (closest supply). Cell service is unreliable throughout the unit. Certified weed-free hay is required on all National Forest lands.
