Active stratovolcano with glaciated flanks, subalpine meadows, and old-growth forest. Elevation spans from ~1,600 ft at park entrances to 14,411 ft at the summit. Paradise, Sunrise, and Carbon River corridors are iconic landscapes.
National Park Service land — hunting is strictly prohibited. NPS wilderness permits required for backcountry overnight. Adjacent Gifford Pinchot and Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forests offer hunting.
