About this unit
Sign in to contributeGMU 20 encompasses the Makah Indian Reservation on the Olympic Peninsula's northwestern tip near Neah Bay. Hunting by non-tribal members requires a Makah tribal permit; state WDFW regulations do not apply here.
Rugged coastal headlands, old-growth rainforest, and Cape Flattery — the northwesternmost point of the contiguous U.S. Dense Sitka spruce, western hemlock, and red alder dominate.
Access for non-tribal members requires a Makah Recreation Permit. No general WDFW hunting license applies. Contact Makah Tribal Natural Resources for tribal hunting permits.

Non-tribal hunters must obtain a Makah tribal hunting permit. WDFW deer tags are not valid here.
Black-tailed deer are present. Hunting governed by Makah Nation regulations, not WDFW. Elk and bear may also occur.
Some of the most remote coastal old-growth in the lower 48. Non-tribal access requires advance permit coordination with the Makah Tribe.
