About this unit
Hunt Area 132 (Cedar Mountain) is a 1,685.93-square-mile high desert and canyon unit in Sweetwater County, southwestern Wyoming. The official boundary runs from Flaming Gorge Reservoir and the Wyoming-Utah state line on the south and east, north along the Green River on the east, west along I-80 to the Green River city area, and south along the Blacks Fork River on the west. The unit is approximately 67 percent public land (predominantly BLM) and is open only for mule deer and white-tailed deer hunting under 2026 regulations. General rifle season closes October 10 for regular hunters and October 14 for youth. Nonresident hunters draw from Region K (areas 132, 133, 134, 168; 200-tag cap). The Uinta mule deer herd has been in recovery following severe 2022-23 winter losses. The unit is a CWD priority sampling area.
Rugged high desert and canyon terrain in Sweetwater County, southwestern Wyoming. The unit covers 1,685.93 square miles. Elevation ranges from approximately 6,000 to 9,400 feet. Vegetation is dominated by sagebrush, bitterbrush, juniper, and prairie grass at lower elevations. Landforms include Cedar Mountain, canyon country flanking Flaming Gorge Reservoir, and drainages running to the Green River and Blacks Fork River.

Hunt Area 132 (Cedar Mountain) is in the Uinta deer herd management area. The herd experienced significant winter mortality in 2022-23 and conservative seasons have been in place; hunters should expect lower deer densities, particularly of mature bucks, though current herd status should be confirmed with WGFD. Area 132 is a CWD priority sampling area; hunters are encouraged to participate in voluntary sampling. Contact the WGFD Green River regional office for current CWD sampling locations and procedures. No elk or pronghorn hunting seasons are authorized in Area 132 under 2026 regulations. The Type 7 doe/fawn license has a precise geographic limitation tied to irrigated agricultural land in Sweetwater County. Nonresident hunters must draw a Region K general license; the Region K cap of 200 tags applies to areas 132, 133, 134, and 168 combined.
