Very low by design - King Ranch operates managed hunting programs with strict harvest guidelines designed to produce trophy-class animals consistently. Hunter-to-land ratios are kept deliberately low to ensure quality experiences and mature deer across all pastures.

OTC tags; King Ranch operations use MLD permits and extensive supplemental management including protein feeding, water development, and selective antlerless harvest. Minimum antler standards on managed operations are significantly above state requirements.

Rio Grande wild turkey on the King Ranch are among the best-managed flocks in South Texas, with spring gobbler hunts available through the ranch operation. Nilgai antelope, introduced on the King Ranch in the 1930s, offer a unique trophy opportunity found nowhere else in North America outside South Texas. Javelina and feral hog management are ongoing components of the ranch wildlife program.
