Gene Howe WMA provides rare public hunting access in an otherwise private-lease landscape, and Lake Marvin offers additional wildlife area habitat along the Canadian River. Rio Grande turkey, scaled quail, and dove add to a diverse upland hunting calendar that makes Hemphill County among the most coveted hunting destinations in the Texas Panhandle.
