Low hunting pressure and sparse population make this one of the more overlooked quality deer counties in eastern Mississippi. Hunters willing to secure private lease access find consistent deer populations with minimal competition.

Mostly private land with limited MDWFP WMA parcels available. The county lacks the large national forest blocks found in neighboring Jones or Jasper counties, making private leases the primary access route.
Low. One of the least-pressured counties in eastern Mississippi, drawing hunters primarily from the local Meridian and Demopolis areas rather than urban centers.
