About this unit
Sign in to contributeMeade County in north-central Kentucky borders the Ohio River and is dominated by Fort Knox, the U.S. Army installation that controls a vast swath of the county's interior. Outside the military reservation, hunters find rolling hardwood ridges and river-bottom habitat supporting good deer and turkey numbers. Public hunting access is severely constrained by Fort Knox, pushing pressure onto limited remaining accessible tracts outside the reservation.
