Sign in to contributeCoffey County centers on John Redmond Reservoir, a large Corps of Engineers impoundment on the Neosho River that creates exceptional waterfowl and whitetail habitat in east-central Kansas. Timbered river bottoms and Osage orange fencerows hold strong deer populations, while the reservoir draws migrating waterfowl each fall. Turkey numbers are solid across the mix of agriculture and timber.
Rolling transitional tallgrass terrain in east-central Kansas. John Redmond Reservoir dominates the northern portion with the Neosho River flowing through agricultural bottomlands and timbered corridors.
Good public access via John Redmond Reservoir Corps of Engineers lands and state WMAs including Flint Oak WMA. One of the better public-land options in east-central Kansas.
