Unit 120, Colorado

Flat to gently rolling plains with an elevation range of approximately 4,282–5,296 feet (approximately 1,305–1,615 m). Relief is minimal — no mountain ranges, no significant drainages beyond Rush Creek and a few small creek bottoms. The landscape is among the lowest-elevation GMUs in Colorado.

Unit boundary is generally defined by Colorado Highway 94 on the north, county roads (including Primary Roads 109, 1, 2 and Secondary Road 35) on the east, Colorado Highway 96 on the south, and Colorado Highway 71 on the west. Approximately 89% private; county roads provide grid access but hunters require explicit landowner permission for private parcels. Public land is limited: Karval State Trust Land (640 acres, Lincoln County, GMU 120) — foot access only from designated parking, open September 1 through end of February, camping and overnight parking prohibited, valid hunting or fishing license required for ages 16+. Hugo SWA (2,240 acres, Lincoln County) is in adjacent GMU 113, not GMU 120, but is mentioned in area hunting guides as a nearby camping option — licensed big-game hunters may camp during season plus 3 days before/after.
