Sign in to contributeLogan County straddles the Arkansas River Valley and the southern Ouachita Mountains, anchored by Magazine Mountain at 2,753 feet and significant Ouachita National Forest acreage that gives public-land hunters outstanding access to rugged terrain. The county holds strong deer and turkey populations across hardwood hollows and oak-pine ridges, and black bears from the expanding Ouachita population are regularly encountered. Few Arkansas counties offer a realistic opportunity to pursue deer, turkey, and black bear on public ground in a single season.
