Overview

Meleagris gallopavo osceola is Florida's endemic turkey subspecies — darker overall than the Eastern, with less white barring on the wing feathers, and adapted to the wet, flat terrain of the Florida peninsula.

Hunting This Subspecies

Florida spring turkey season runs late February through April with the peak in March.
